Salary: £91,004 to £104,927

Location:London / Leeds with travel required between both locations.

NHSX is leading the largest digital health and social care transformation programme in the world.

With investment of more than £1 billion pounds a year nationally and a significant additional spend

locally, NHSX has been created to give staff and citizens the technology they need.

In December 2018, the Office for Life Sciences published the second Life Sciences Sector Deal,

which set out the first-steps towards ensuring the benefits of health data are realised across the

country. Alongside five guiding principles for NHS Organisations entering into data sharing

agreements, we committed to establishing a National Centre of Expertise (the ‘Centre’). The Centre

will oversee our developing policy framework, provide specialist commercial and legal advice to NHS

organisations entering data agreements. Ultimately, the vision of the Centre is to provide NHS

organisations with the capability, capacity and confidence to enter into data-sharing partnerships

that benefit the NHS, Patients and the Public.

We are seeking a Head of Centre of Expertise Development, the role will focus on establishing the

strategic direction and value add of the Centre of Expertise over the next one and five years.

Supporting the Director to establish the Centre you will help to shape its strategic direction, priority

areas for early impact and build a credible brand at national, regional and local level, with the NHS,

government, industry and other stakeholders, including patient and public interest groups.

You will lead the design and development of the Centre’s core functions, including mapping the

policy and regulatory landscape, collating research and gathering intelligence to inform the Centre’s

strategy, as well as defining the early core activities for the Centre to undertake, and priorities to

deliver against.

You will build relationships and networks across all stakeholders with an interest in this space to

understand their ’ask‘ of the Centre, and raise awareness of its role in advising NHS organisations on

data partnerships. You will also work to identify strategic partnerships that can bring together the

right organisations and skill sets and that can offer significant benefit for the NHS, patients and the

public.

We’re looking for a personable and confident professional who will strive for continuous

improvement and innovation. Educated to Masters level or equivalent degree, or demonstrable

relevant experience, you value diversity and difference and operate with integrity and openness.
